Drawn by Cival.TrappedTraders.dll's own OnRender code on recorded BTC-PERP 5-minute bars, Oct 17 00:35 UTC β Oct 17 08:40 UTC. The panel shows the study's state at the end of the 4.8-day recording, so it can describe a later setup than the one in view.
How these images were made
Each image was drawn by the indicator pluginβs own rendering code, run outside ATAS on recorded Hyperliquid BTC-PERP trades from October 17β21, 2026. The candles underneath are drawn by our render harness in place of ATASβs chart, so fonts and spacing differ slightly from ATAS itself. Nothing was edited after rendering.
Step through the interactive replay βCival Trapped Traders
Finds aggressive buying or selling at a known reference that then fails β and follows each hypothesis from at-risk to confirmed, retested or invalidated, on closed bars only.
Bid/ask footprint (cluster) data is required: the source rules read executed aggression per price row.

What's included
How it works
Trapped Traders reads every closed candle's footprint for directional aggression at a known reference: the prior range, a confirmed swing or a level you set. When that aggression is followed by a close back through the reference and a later confirming candle, the study marks the failed side as trapped and keeps tracking the zone.
Each hypothesis carries an inspectable evidence checklist β aggression share, structure, stacked diagonal imbalances, relative volume, reclaim, displacement, directional close β scored out of 100 as a checklist, not a probability. Invalidation and 1R/2R guides are drawn from the source extreme so you can see exactly where the idea stops being true.
A separate gold LIVE layer previews the forming candle without ever changing confirmed history. Review mode replays what was known at any past bar.
Platform support
ATAS is the reference version. Other platforms expose different order-flow data, so each port does what its platform allows and says so in the chart when a feature is approximate or unavailable.

Before you buy
Does it know who is trapped?
No. It identifies executed aggression at a reference that then failed on a closed-bar basis. It cannot see positions, entry prices, remaining size or anyoneβs exits.
Which instruments does it work on?
Any instrument where ATAS provides bid/ask footprint history: futures, crypto and stocks with tick-level data. Each source is checked for reconciled footprint rows before it is used.
Do I need a Cival dashboard?
No. Trapped Traders is a standalone chart indicator. It does not connect to the Cival dashboard, any exchange account or the internet.
Does it place trades?
No. It draws analysis on your chart and can raise local alerts. It never sends orders, and nothing it shows is a recommendation to trade.
Does it repaint?
Confirmed signals are computed on closed bars only and are not changed by later candles. Anything drawn on the forming candle is labelled as live or unconfirmed.
Which platforms are included?
The compiled ATAS plugin is the reference version. TradingView and NinjaTrader 8 ports are included as source code, with a table of which features each platform can and cannot support.
What license do I get?
