Drawn by Cival.PatternLab.dll's own OnRender code on recorded BTC-PERP 5-minute bars, Oct 17 12:25 UTC – Oct 17 20:40 UTC. The panel shows the study's state at the end of the 4.8-day recording, so it can describe a later setup than the one in view.
How these images were made
Each image was drawn by the indicator plugin’s own rendering code, run outside ATAS on recorded Hyperliquid BTC-PERP trades from October 17–21, 2026. The candles underneath are drawn by our render harness in place of ATAS’s chart, so fonts and spacing differ slightly from ATAS itself. Nothing was edited after rendering.

Test a footprint pattern on your own chart before you trust it: six readable rules, a next-bar simulation with costs, and train / validation / untouched-test results in the panel.
Footprint data is needed for delta and POC. Bars without a complete footprint are never matched, but simulated trades still advance through them.

What's included
How it works
Pattern Lab turns a candle-and-footprint idea into a rule you can read — delta reversal, absorption, engulfing, breakout-retest, five-bar reversal or your own candle sequence — gated on volume and delta. Every closed bar that meets every condition is marked, and a simulation enters at the next bar's open with a fixed stop, a target multiple, a holding limit and your round-trip costs.
Results are split by date into train, validation and an untouched test period, with trade count, win rate, expectancy, profit factor and drawdown for each. Bars that touch both stop and target count as stop-first, and trades crossing a partition boundary are excluded.
Its job is to tell you when an idea does not hold up. On our own recorded BTC sample the default delta-reversal rule lost after costs in every partition — that is the Lab working, and the demo below shows it.
Platform support
ATAS is the reference version. Other platforms expose different order-flow data, so each port does what its platform allows and says so in the chart when a feature is approximate or unavailable.
ATAS Platform 8.0.15 or newer (.NET 10)
Built from source, tested, and run on recorded BTC data for the demo below
Pine Script v6. Footprint features need a Premium or Ultimate plan (request.footprint)
Compiled on TradingView’s servers
NinjaTrader 8; footprint features need Order Flow+ Volumetric bars
NinjaScript source, compiled on import (F5). Not yet compile-tested inside NinjaTrader by Cival
| Feature | ATAS | TradingView | NinjaTrader 8 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Six pattern rules with volume and delta gates TradingView uses request.footprint() delta on Premium/Ultimate plans; otherwise delta is estimated from lower-timeframe bars and labelled. NinjaTrader needs Volumetric bars. | Full | Approximate | Full |
| Directional POC migration filter Ports break POC ties differently; without footprint the TradingView filter suppresses signals and says so. | Full | Approximate | Approximate |
| Next-bar simulation with costs and stop-first ambiguity | Full | Full | Full |
| Train / validation / test partitions and results table | Full | Full | Full |
| CSV export of trades and bars Pine cannot write files. | Full | Not available | Full |

Before you buy
Will it find me a profitable pattern?
It will tell you honestly how a rule performed on the history you load, split so you can see whether it held up out of sample. Our own demo result was negative after costs. A positive result in the past does not mean it will continue.
Is it a strategy that trades?
No. It is an indicator that simulates entries on your chart for research. It never sends orders.
Do I need a Cival dashboard?
No. Pattern Lab is a standalone chart indicator. It does not connect to the Cival dashboard, any exchange account or the internet.
Does it place trades?
No. It draws analysis on your chart and can raise local alerts. It never sends orders, and nothing it shows is a recommendation to trade.
Does it repaint?
Confirmed signals are computed on closed bars only and are not changed by later candles. Anything drawn on the forming candle is labelled as live or unconfirmed.
Which platforms are included?
The compiled ATAS plugin is the reference version. TradingView and NinjaTrader 8 ports are included as source code, with a table of which features each platform can and cannot support.
