Start with a wallet you control. This lesson uses MetaMask as an example, not an endorsement or a requirement to create another wallet. Open MetaMask's official website and follow its download link to the correct browser extension or mobile app. Check the publisher before installing. Avoid sponsored lookalikes and links sent by strangers. Open the official wallet app and choose Create a new wallet. Current MetaMask onboarding offers different recovery methods, including a Secret Recovery Phrase and supported social sign in. Read the method you select rather than assuming they work the same way. An existing wallet can stay in its own app. Cival does not need you to paste its recovery phrase into a website. Pause this video and stop screen sharing before entering a password or viewing recovery material. Complete those steps privately in the wallet. If you choose a recovery phrase, follow the wallet's backup and confirmation instructions and keep the words securely offline. Do not photograph them for a support request. Never send recovery words, private keys, or your password to Cival, to an agent, or to someone claiming to help. After onboarding, find the account's public address in your wallet. That address identifies the account you will connect and verify. It is different from your recovery phrase and from the separate agent trading key. Copy addresses from the wallet itself and compare the complete destination before using them. A matching first and last character alone is not a sufficient transfer check. You are ready when the official wallet opens, you understand its recovery method, and you can identify the intended account. Keep the wallet locked when you are not using it. On a computer, use the browser where its extension is installed. On mobile, use the supported wallet's in app browser when required. Next, connect this account to Cival and verify ownership. Creating a wallet alone does not fund it or authorize trading.
